Here are some recently-discovered pix of a gathering of the local West Coast Military Radio Collectors Group guys at this event. We were attending the Military Vehicle Collectors of California rally at the Waterford CA camp ground, AKA Big Bear. This was in April 1993 at the site east of Modesto CA right on the Tuolomne River.
We were running a GRC-9, PRC-47, PRC-10, PRC-6 and a BC-611. We had HF and 6 meter comms with several other radio-equipped Hams at the event
During this Op I was also running a training FTX with my US Navy unit that had another PRC-47 set up on Treasure Island to exercise HF comms over this 90 mile path. We were running that Net on assigned US Navy freqs in the 4 and 6 mc bands. Good field training!

The weather, comms, food and company was great! Attendance included Tom, Henry, Richard, Lynn, Trish and several others from both club groups during this 3 day campout.

The West Coast Military Radio Collectors Group has been together for over 35 years and has its annual Muster at Camp San Luis Obispo in the spring. We also run field ops from various locations as above and we run informal voice and CW nets fairly often.
